We have delivered our Active Play programme at UK primary schools since 2014. All the associated costs are funded by Kings Active Foundation meaning we’re able to offer Active Play Sessions to UK primary schools for free! We use games, resources and staff from our holiday activity camps – Kings Camps – to deliver fun and active sessions that bring out the best in every child or ‘empower young minds’.
Not-for-profit, since 1991
Kings Active Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation who have helped over 3 million children get active, have fun and learn together since we started.
All our work contributes to our vision of creating A World Where Children Love Being Active.

How do Active Play Sessions work?
- Active Play Sessions provide children of all ages and abilities with a positive and new experience of being physically active.
- They’re delivered by experienced, energetic and DBS/PVG cleared staff aka ‘Red Tops’.
- The sessions can be 30 or 45 minutes long and can be delivered to each class in your school across 1 or 2 days.
- All children will receive a certificate for participation and to celebrate teamwork and effort.
- The games we deliver use minimal equipment so children can continue to play the games at home and in the playground.
Our staff were amazed at how much energy they had throughout the day. Children were really engaged and motivated to be outdoors and active. I saw children leaving their school day, showcasing the fun routines they had learned with Kings!

Activities were well paced and very entertaining for the children, who were fully engaged throughout. The Red Tops were skilled at delivering their activities and worked hard to ensure that all the children were engaged and encouraged. A very positive experience for the children.
